Precision optics field

1. Optical Devices
Preparation of planar optical surfaces: Optical devices typically require very flat surfaces to ensure accurate transmission and reflection of light. CMP technology can process the surfaces of optical materials to extremely high flatness, eliminating small bumps and defects.
Alignment of optical components: During the assembly process of optical devices, CMP processing can achieve highly precise alignment between optical components, thereby improving the performance of the entire optical system.
Metasurface manufacturing: A metasurface is a planar two-dimensional structure composed of optical units of small sizes. CMP can be used to form high-precision fine patterns on the metasurface structure to achieve precise optical phase control.  

 

2. Lasers
Polishing of laser substrates: Lasers (such as LD and VCSEL) have extremely high requirements for the quality of the substrate surface, typically requiring a surface roughness of less than 0.1μm and a thickness variation of less than 10μm. The CMP process is the preferred technology that can meet these high precision requirements.
